Processing 1099’s for 2022 w/ Aatrix in Sage 300

Tis the season… the 1099 season.

We want you to succeed in processing your 1099s. There were a few updates to Sage 300, so we want to make sure you have the most up to date information about how to process your 1099s. We also wanted to give a short demonstration showing how easy it is to use Aatrix, a wizard driven tool, to process your forms. We want you to understand all of your options for preparing your 1099s on time, especially if you’re on a different version of Sage 300 that might not support this new Aatrix Solution. Therefore, we put together a short 20 minute webinar that covers this information.

Sage 300 Changes to the 1099 Printing and Reporting process
for the 2022 calendar year

The IRS has made changes to the 1099 forms themselves. Your current version of Sage will no longer print the 1099 forms in the proper format. You will need to ensure that your Sage 300 application is updated to the latest product update:

  • for v2023, use product update 1
  • for v2022, use product update 4
  • for v2021, use product update 7
  • If you’re running a 2020 or earlier version of Sage 300 we have a custom solution for you. This solution has been developed and will read your Sage 300 data, then pass it over to Aatrix in a similar way for reporting and e-filing. Please contact your DataQuest representative if you would like more information on how to get this solution.

The 1099 no longer prints directly in Sage 300. A third party application called Aatrix launched directly from Sage will guide you through the process of printing and e-filing your 1099s. No additional software is required. Aatrix has a step-by-steps wizard to print and e-file your 1099s and is very easy to use. You can find more information on Aatrix www.aatrix.com/efile/1099.

Sage 300 Aatrix Demonstration

Follow along with Paul Stone as he goes through the process of setting up the 1099 codes, and printing the 1099 forms.

Webinar Q&A

  1. How people can decide if they should use the Aatrix solution or the DataQuest solution? It really matters what version of Sage 300 you’re on. Both solutions pass the data over to Aatrix to finish the process. But if you’re running the 2020 or older version of Sage 300, you want to use the DataQuest custom solution as Sage does not have a 1099 solution for those older versions.
  2. Is it possible to not print the forms if you want to just e-file? Yes. Paul covers the Aatrix free option of how to send your 1099s electronically.
  3. How do we align the information to print in the correct boxes? That is no longer an issue as these forms will printed on plain white paper instead of preprinted 1099 forms as done in the past. The document printed from Aatrix will be the actual 1099 completed with the information in each box.
  4. How do I check to see my version of Sage? Paul demonstrates this in the webinar. Just click the “Help?” button, choose ” About Sage 300″, then click the “System Info…” button. You will then see what System Manager Version and Update you’re currently running.
